The promoter of all competitions is Star Draws & Comps Ltd.

These are our Standard Competition Terms, which apply to all competitions, prize draws and promotions we operate.

  1. Eligibility to Enter

1.1 We operate a variety of competitions (each a “Competition” or “Draw”), with prizes described on the relevant Competition page.
1.2 Competitions are open only to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 or over, unless expressly stated otherwise.
1.3 We reserve the right to suspend or close any account where we reasonably believe that the user is abusing our services, acting in an abusive or threatening manner, or is not the genuine entrant.
1.4 We may refuse any entry at our sole discretion.
1.5 These Terms & Conditions apply to all Competitions we operate, in addition to any rules specific to an individual Competition.

  1. Legal Agreement

2.1 By entering any Competition, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and any additional rules or instructions applicable to that Competition.
2.2 All Competitions are governed by English law, and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any dispute arising.
2.3 If you access or enter a Competition from outside the UK, you are solely responsible for ensuring that doing so does not contravene local laws. We do not accept liability for unlawful entries submitted from outside the UK.

  1. Entry Requirements

3.1 Entries must be submitted through our website. Multiple Competitions may run concurrently.
3.2 Entry prices and availability are displayed on the relevant Competition page. A free entry route is always provided, ensuring no purchase is necessary.
3.3 Owing to our free entry route, our Competitions fall within Schedule 2 of the Gambling Act 2005 and the Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators, meaning our draws are not regulated as lotteries or skill‑based competitions and do not require a licence.
3.4 You must create an account before entering. Registration may be completed using an email address or an approved social login provider.
3.5 Online entry requires you to:

  • Select your chosen Competition
  • Provide required contact and payment details (if applicable)
  • Confirm your acceptance of these Terms
  • Receive email confirmation of your entry

3.6 We reserve the right to refuse or disqualify entries that are incomplete, suspicious, damaged or otherwise ineligible.
3.7 All entries become our property and will not be returned.
3.8 You may enter up to the maximum number of entries stated for each Competition.
3.9 A Competition closes when all available tickets have been sold or when the advertised closing time is reached, whichever is earlier. Entries received after this point will not be valid.
3.10 Where free postal entries reach 10% of the number of entries purchased by paying participants, we may limit free entries if insufficient tickets remain, to ensure fairness between paid and free entrants.
3.11 All entrants, including free postal entrants, must hold an account and provide a valid email address and telephone number.

  1. Promotion Periods

Each Competition specifies its opening and closing dates and times, the total number of tickets available, and the odds of winning (e.g., ODDS 1:100 – 100 tickets total).
Entries received outside these periods will not be accepted.

  1. Selection of Winners

5.1 Winners are selected live, using a Random Number Generator (RNG), which may include reputable third‑party services such as random.org.
5.2 Unless expressly stated otherwise, each Competition will have one winner.
5.3 Winners will be contacted using the details provided in their account. You are responsible for ensuring your contact details remain up-to-date. If we are unable to contact a winner within 5 working days, the prize may be forfeited.
5.4 If a Competition must be closed early due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., payment provider failures, website outages), we may:

  • Select a winner from all valid entries received to date; or
  • Cancel the Competition and refund all participants or issue credit, at their discretion.

5.5 Entrants who choose to receive marketing communications may be sent updates or promotional information about current and future Competitions.

  1. Winner Verification

6.1 Winners may be required to provide proof of identity and/or age. Failure to provide satisfactory evidence may result in disqualification.
6.2 With the winner’s consent, we may request photographs or video content for use in promotional materials.
6.3 Once verified, we will arrange delivery or collection of the prize with the winner.

  1. Prizes

7.1 Details of each prize are provided on the relevant Competition page. Prizes remain our property until formally handed over to the verified winner.
7.2 Once delivered or collected, responsibility for the prize transfers to the winner. Insurance is not provided unless expressly stated.
7.3 Delivery within Great Britain is free of charge. Deliveries outside Great Britain may incur additional fees.
7.4 Winners are responsible for any costs associated with collecting or transporting larger prizes (such as vehicles), and this will be clearly stated on the Competition page.
7.5 Prizes may be subject to additional terms imposed by manufacturers, suppliers, or us.
7.6 Prizes are non‑transferable, may not be exchanged for cash, and cannot be used with other promotions, unless the Competition expressly offers a cash alternative (e.g., Car or £20,000 cash alternative).

  1. Refunds and Return Policy

8.1 Refunds are issued solely at the discretion of the Promoter and will only be considered in exceptional circumstances.

8.2 All Entries to any Competition are final. No refunds will be issued for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • the Entrant selecting incorrect ticket quantities; or
  • the Entrant selecting the wrong Competition or Entry type.

8.3 Where any issue referred to in Clause 8.2 arises due to an error attributable to the Promoter’s website, platform or third‑party software, a refund may be considered at the Promoter’s discretion. (See also Clause 5.4.)

8.4 Entrants are solely responsible for ensuring they have read, understood and agree to these Terms and Conditions before submitting any Entry.

8.5 The Promoter may void an Entry or require the return of a Prize (without refund or compensation) where the Entrant or Winner has engaged, or is reasonably suspected of engaging, in any of the following:

a) creating or using multiple accounts;
b) actual or attempted fraud;
c) fraudulent misrepresentation;
d) fraudulent concealment;
e) hacking, tampering with or interfering with the website, software, or systems;
f) unauthorised modification, alteration or misuse of website code or functionality;
g) being found post‑entry to have been ineligible to enter or claim a Prize;
h) becoming ineligible following changes to eligibility criteria;
i) being disqualified pursuant to these Terms and Conditions.

8.6 The Promoter reserves the right to cancel any Competition at any time (see Clause 5.4), whether before or after Entries have been purchased. In the event of cancellation, Entrants will be notified using the email address provided. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method, or account credit may be offered at the Entrant’s election. No further liability shall arise thereafter.

8.7 Prizes are purchased from third‑party suppliers. If a Prize is defective or subject to a warranty claim, Winners may be directed to the relevant supplier. The Promoter accepts no liability for any damage caused by a Winner’s opening, tampering with or modifying a Prize. Such conduct constitutes acceptance of the Prize and a waiver of any claim against the Promoter.

8.8 Where a defect attributable to the supplier is identified, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, assist in arranging repair, replacement or return. Entrants must notify the Promoter by email as soon as reasonably practicable. The Promoter is not responsible for third‑party warranty or returns procedures.

8.9 Entrants acknowledge that the 30‑day supply requirement set out in the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 does not apply to prize competitions.

8.10 Entrants who believe exceptional circumstances apply must contact the Promoter at support@stardraws.co.uk, providing their order number and a full explanation of the request.

  1. Complaint Procedure

Star Draws & Comps Ltd aims to ensure a positive experience for all Entrants. If you have a concern or wish to raise a complaint, you should contact us directly using the contact details provided on our “Contact Us” page.

All complaints are acknowledged promptly and responded to within one month.

To assist with the investigation, please provide:

  • a clear description of the issue;
  • the date(s) on which the issue occurred;
  • screenshots or supporting evidence (where relevant);
  • Any additional relevant information.

The more information provided, the more efficiently the matter can be resolved.

9.1 Where a Complaint Cannot Be Resolved

If a complaint cannot be resolved through our internal process, or if a “deadlock” letter has been issued, the Entrant may escalate the matter through external channels. Guidance on escalation routes is set out below.

9.2 Complaints Escalation Guidance

Star Draws & Comps Ltd encourages all Entrants to follow the internal complaint process first. Where this process has been exhausted, Entrants may consider the following escalation options:

9.2(a) Advertising Standards Authority (ASA)

Appropriate where the complaint relates to:

  • misleading promotional content;
  • unfair draw processes;
  • claims that a Prize was not awarded as advertised.

Complaints should be raised via the ASA website, ideally within 3 months of the relevant advertisement.

9.2(b) Citizens Advice / Trading Standards

Appropriate where the complaint concerns potential breaches of consumer law.

Contact options include:

These organisations may escalate matters to Trading Standards if appropriate.

9.2(c) Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)

Entrants should review the Terms to determine whether Star Draws & Comps Ltd is a member of an ADR scheme. Examples include:

  • Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman
  • Dispute Resolution Ombudsman

Where applicable, ADR may issue a legally binding decision.

9.2(d) Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS)

If payment was made by credit card, debit card or PayPal, and the operator has not supplied the Prize or service, the Entrant may pursue a chargeback.
If the provider does not resolve the matter, Entrants may escalate to the FOS.

9.2(e) Action Fraud

Appropriate where the Entrant believes they may have been the victim of fraud or criminal activity relating to a Competition.

9.2(f) Small Claims Court

Entrants may pursue a Small Claims Court action where the dispute involves high‑value Prizes or financial loss and all other routes have been exhausted.

Important Notes

  • Deadlock Letter: Entrants may request written confirmation that their complaint cannot be resolved internally.
  • Response Timeframes: Star Draws typically has up to 8 weeks to issue a final response before escalation is appropriate.
  • Competition & Markets Authority (CMA): The CMA does not handle individual disputes but may investigate systemic or market‑wide concerns.
  1. Storage

10.1 The Promoter will store the Prize free of charge for a period of 30 days from notification to the Winner. Thereafter, storage fees apply and must be paid before the Prize is released.

11.1 Subject to consent, the Promoter may request photographs and/or videos of Winners for promotional use, including marketing and PR.

11.2 Entrants may be asked to consent to the use of their name, town/county of residence, photograph, likeness and participation in publicity, without additional payment other than pre‑approved reasonable travel expenses.

  1. Limitation of Liability

12.1 Except for liability which cannot lawfully be excluded (including death, personal injury and fraud), all warranties regarding Prize quality, suitability or fitness for purpose are excluded. The Promoter shall have no liability for any economic or consequential losses arising from the supply or non‑supply of any Prize.

12.2 The Promoter’s maximum liability to any Winner is limited to the value of the Prize awarded.

12.3 For Entrants who do not win, the Promoter’s total liability is limited to the total amount paid by the Entrant for Entries in the preceding 12 months.

12.4 Nothing in these Terms affects statutory rights.

  1. Electronic Communications

13.1 The Promoter accepts no responsibility for failed, incomplete, corrupted or interrupted electronic communications.

13.2 The Promoter will use reasonable endeavours to award Prizes correctly. If a Prize is incorrectly allocated due to technical or human error, the Promoter may reclaim the Prize and award it to the rightful Entrant.

13.3 No compensation is due to any person incorrectly awarded a Prize.

13.4 Only Entries recorded in the Promoter’s system are valid.
